📜 THE PREMISE

Rome, 60 AD. You have just opened your establishment in the bustling streets of the Imperial capital. In Tabernarius, you have 7 days to prove your worth as a tavern keeper and accumulate as much Prestige as possible.

The city is a powder keg of politics, hunger, and ambition. Can you keep the wine flowing and the patrons happy, or will you be forgotten in the dust of the Appian Way?

🏺 THE FOUR FACTIONS

To succeed, you must balance the demands of Rome’s four major factions. Each requires a different strategy:

• THE PLEBEIANS (2–6): Numerous and easy to please. They are your "bread and butter."
• THE FORUM (7–9): The influential citizens who maintain the city's balance.
• THE ARMY (10 & 14): Rome’s brute force. Demanding and rowdy, but highly rewarding.
• THE ELITE (11–13): Your most prestigious guests. Serving them provides a massive multiplier to your final score.

📦 Stock Management

Strategically play your Provision cards (Wine and Bread). To satisfy a patron, the total sum of your provisions must be equal to or greater than the customer's value.

🎭 Strategic Actions

The game isn't just about service; it’s about survival. Use Action cards to:

• Manipulate the Black Market.
• Spread Rumors to sabotage rivals.
• Invest in your Reputation to attract higher-paying guests.

🏛️ Historical Events

No two days are the same. Every morning begins with a historical event that shifts the rules of the game: from Nero’s Annona grain doles to Praetorian Guard patrols.

⚖️ THE GOLDEN RULE

A tavern must be impeccable. At the end of each phase (Morning, Noon, Evening), you must:

1. Serve at least one customer.
2. Ensure no one is left waiting inside.
